Frustration Is A CHOICE
Stress, fear, doubt, anxiety, overwhelm, worry… THESE ARE ALL CHOICES.
They are OPTIONAL.
You do NOT have to tune into these negative, destructive emotional states if you do not want to.
I know it sounds crazy. I know it’s unbelievable.
But I’m now convinced that these emotional states are largely OPTIONAL.
Once you develop this skill, you can tune into specific emotional states and out of them on demand, much like you tune into certain TV stations, radio stations, or even Spotify playlists.
Instead of getting stuck in fear and frustration, you can consciously TUNE OUT of fear and frustration, and INTO confidence and peace.
And look, why WOULDN’T you want to do this?
Frustration, stress, fear and doubt are unpleasant and uncomfortable. They also DECREASE your performance in business and life.
So why would you settle for feeling frustrated, stressed, anxious or overwhelmed when you don’t have to?
These emotional states are NOT helping you.
They are HOLDING YOU BACK.
If you could TUNE OUT of frustration and stress, you’d get what you want in life FASTER, EASIER and with LESS FUSS.
Your performance would increase… DRAMATICALLY.
So my question for you is:
What are you doing today, this week, this month to improve your ability to manage and master negative emotional states like frustration, stress, fear, doubt and overwhelm?
In the last 12 months, I’ve mostly eliminated these emotional states from my daily experience of reality, by understanding 3 things:
1) The TRUE source of frustration and stress is NOT the world, NOR the mind, but in your relationship to these emotions.
2) Changing your relationship to these uncomfortable emotions is NOT about changing your external reality, or engaging with the problem mentally via positive thinking, meditation, etc, but about applying a set of specific “emotional mastery” techniques.
(NOTE: Meditation is NOT one of these techniques.)
c) Applying these “emotional mastery” techniques is NOT some fluffy, “woo woo” based practice, but as simple and straightforward as practicing scales on the piano. IF you take the time to practice these techniques, you WILL experience a transformation in your relationship to frustration and stress, and you WILL discover that you can tune out of frustration and into confidence anytime you like.
Understanding these 3 ideas has taken me from unhappy, frustrated, and unsatisfied in life, to happier, stronger and more fulfilled than ever.
Plus, performance is at an all-time high.
